Residency at GZ New Media with two projects in Guangzhou in Southern China, Xiaozhou Cun and Xian Cun; and a performance work at the YouYou Arts Centre -The Paradise (paradise unfolding).

During first project a set of objects found and excavated from this village were used, photographed and then printed and re-installed outside and on site in the village itself. The images responded to and in relation to both village locations and inhabitants in a very interactive way.
The second project was a a day live work made in the partly demolished village of Xian Cun. Resisted by the residents who have refused to leave and still live within the demolished ruins. This set of works made in solidarity and support of their resistance.
A keynote performance for a large audience was held at the YouYou Centre for Contemporary Art.

The residency project XZ New Media is a program of activities, and indirectly a collaborative project aimed at local and regional institutions that can bring international artists to be included in their regular activities through lectures, workshops, exhibitions and of course live performances.
