Abstract or Description: | This is a symposium being planned by the Fashion Programme Academic staff that aims to carve a niche for Fashion specific Design Research Methods and Methodologies as alternatives to the appropriation of Fine Art processes and or Design Theory in the absence of generally accepted Fashion Practice research frameworks. The aim of the symposium is to gauge whether there is a valid argument to be made for the mercurial, and seemingly 'incomplete' fashion research process, and/ or whether fashion attracts a particular character mindset, one that is willing to risk non-sequential, rhizome-like thought processes that might hold valid positions amongst the panoply of design practice theories.
