I received a £30,000 Contemporary Art Society/Art Fund award in partnership with the Ceri Hand Gallery, Harris Museum, Preston and Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts as part of the collaborative Testing Media scheme, designed to support museums in the acquisition of significant contemporary performance works presenting particular challenges around display and conservation; 4 short films and a collection of photographs, drawings, performance ephemera and scripts are now part of the permanent collection of both museums, a selection spanning early and recent work commissioned by institutions including Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Camden Arts Centre, Performance Matters (research project initiated by Live Art Development Agency, Goldsmiths and Roehampton Institute), and John Hansard Gallery. The works were the basis of ‘This Is Performance Art – Part II: Experimental Theatre and Cabaret’, a solo exhibition at Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts and formed part of ‘Nothing Happens,Twice’, a group exhibition at the Harris Museum.
